Emissions Testing

The state of Indiana is very specific when it comes to the vehicles that require smog and emissions testing within the state. Only vehicles that are registered in the Lake County and Porter County are considered required to undergo these screenings. They must do so every two years, testing their emissions, as well as doing tampering inspections. However, they must also have been manufactured after the year 1976. Furthermore, the state of Indiana has created a system where cars that were made during odd-numbered years are only checked on odd-numbered years. The opposite goes for those vehicles that were manufactured on even-numbered years. When going to get your car tested, make sure to bring your current car registration.
